Funds Europe Award 2011
Allianz Global Investors has been awarded by Funds Europe magazine for the "European Fund Launch of the Year" for the Allianz RCM Renminbi Fixed Income fund. The Allianz RCM Renminbi Fixed Income fund was launched as a UCITS IV compliant fund domiciled in Luxembourg in June 2011. The fund was launched to give investors an additional way to access the Chinese growth story. Allianz Global Investors was pioneering this investment concept - namely to benefit from the widely expected appreciation of the Renminbi - for retail and institutional investors throughout Europe. Due to high demand the fund was closed to new investments in August in order to manage the fund in the best way possible given the currently limited number of investment opportunities. In response to European client demand and the rising importance of the Renminbi, Allianz Global Investors has launched the Allianz RCM Renminbi Currency fund in October 2011. This innovative fund enables European investors to participate in the expected gains from an appreciation of the Renminbi.
